Basic Life Support (BLS)

Course Description

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies and also emphasizes the importance of giving high-quality chest compressions, delivering appropriate ventilations and also the importance of early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). 

This course is targeted for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and pre-hospital settings. BLS is a one (1) day course. 

Accredited by American Heart association (AHA) 

Course Objectives

  • Train participants how to perform high-quality CPR 
  • Ensure participants can open and maintain airway and provide effective rescue breaths in different age group 
  • Equip participants with the skills to adapt CPR techniques for infants, children, and adults, ensuring proper compression depth, rate, and hand placement for each age group 
  • Teach participants to recognize and manage complete and partial airway obstructions in conscious and unconscious patient 
  • Enhance teamwork and communication to ensure quick role assignment and seamless coordination during resuscitation 

 

Requirements

  • Ability to kneel, perform effective chest compressions, and provide ventilations. 
  • Participants with physical limitations should notify the instructor for accommodations. 
  • Prior interaction with shared learning materials
